Regional Plan and Status of Science Education in School in NER

NEDFi is currently undertaking another large scale study under the title “Regional plan and status of science education in schools in NER” under request of North Eastern Council (NEC), Government of India. The study will cover 47 districts, 92 schools and 5000 students of North East India. The study involves assessment of current status of science education at upper primary and secondary school level and prepare state-specific sub-plan for development of science education in this level. The Corporation is conducting this study in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) – Guwahati which is knowledge partner for the study. Schools under various boards, administration/management and medium will be covered in the study. Apart from assessing the status of science education among the students, the study also seeks to cover the other stakeholder of the system viz- the parents, the science and mathematics teachers, various board and administrative bodies including the agencies involved in implementing flagship schemes of Government of India in education sector like Sarba Shiskha Abhiyan, Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan etc.
